SBSPS SCHEDULE OF UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 1930 in the Harbor Waterfront Classroom, located at 113 Harbor Way, Santa Barbara.

The Boating Activities committee has scheduled a number of activities. We have a really exciting series of cruises planned for 2008 and we’d like to suggest you put these in your calendar so you can be sure attend at least a few of ‘em.

Actually getting out on the water with our fellow SBPSS friends is what the Power and Sail Squadron is all about. The cruises are friendly, non-competitive and (most importantly) an opportunity to support each other, and be supported, for maximum safety and fun. Power and sailboats both are VERY welcome!

The July cruise is the yearly trip to PCYC in Channel Islands Harbor. But there’s an optional pre-cruise a few days before to San Miguel, Santa Rosa and Santa Cruz, ending up at PCYC. (A further option, of course, is to drive to PCYC!)

Likewise in August, the base activity is to go the District 13 weekend in Catalina. But there is an optional extension of going via Santa Cruz Island and Santa Barbara Island, and coming home via Malibu. (A further option of course is to drive to Long Beach and get the ferry to Catalina!) Here’s what we have going: The map shows locations.

For each cruise I’ll be asking an experienced SBPSS member to act as cruise leader. Everything is subject to weather–and the March and April cruises have backup dates already assigned. I’ll give a heads-up a week or so before each cruise, but my experience tells me that we’re all very busy, and if we wait too long before putting these in our calendars, we’ll find other commitments already there. SO–LET’S DO SOME PLANNING!!
